It was later quoted in the Xuanhe Painting Catalogue to praise the breathtaking landscapes painted on lofty walls—long pines, massive trees, winding streams, sheer cliffs, and cloud-wreathed peaks appearing in endlessly varied forms. The Ming-era scholar Zhu Guozhen also used it in his Yongzhuang Xiaopin to lament how human artifice grows ever more varied and deceptive.
