📜 Origin Story
During the Spring and Autumn period, Duke Mu of Qin suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of three Jin generals who had been captured and then released by Jin. The Duke's fury ran so deep that his consort, a Jin princess, pleaded on behalf of the three captive Jin generals, saying that Duke Mu's resentment toward them had entered his very marrow. She asked that the men be spared execution so that her lord could personally exact revenge by boiling them alive. The Jin ruler agreed and returned the three generals to Qin.
